Why is early intervention of Massage Therapy important?

As we know, the human body does not like to feel pain or discomfort. When your muscles start to feel tension build up another muscle will take over and start to work harder to take the pressure off the initial tight area so that we don’t feel any pain. 

Over the course of our lives as we go to school, exercise, maybe study at University and then enter the workforce, our bodies are tightening up and we are totally unaware of this muscular tension building slowly.

This can be the beginning of a long sequence of muscular imbalances throughout your body without you having any idea this is happening. Eventually, the body can’t compensate any more and somewhere you will experience a musculoskeletal problem.

Most people make the mistake of thinking that this sudden muscular pain or injury was from something they recently did. Little do they know that this pain is most likely the result of muscle tension building slowly over the last few years, sometimes even decades of their life. All of which could have been avoided with early intervention of regular Sports Massage.

How many people do you know that complain of headaches, back pain, knee pain etc…? Lower back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal problems in modern society. It is experienced by 70-80% of adults some time in their lives. Massage therapy has the potential to prevent this from happening and additionally minimize pain and speed up the return to normal function if it does occur.

So many people as they hit their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s have these complaints simply because they have not looked after their body with some sort of regular muscle therapy.

It is their job to release those tension spots before they result in a painful injury or turn into chronic pain.
